We are Tipo Medellin Co., always looking for inspiration through Latin ingredients and flavors to create the best drinks, while making them available wherever you're located. You can find our drinks in a can or bottle delivered to your doorstep, or in a freshly prepared drink at your local bar, always with real natural ingredients that, in addition to giving you a moment of relaxation, add a few benefits not found in your typical beverage.
The history
Founders John Anthony and Yuliana Fioravanti, are based in Charlotte, NC. He was born in the U.S., and a leader in Finance and Accounting in the craft beverage industry. She is a Colombian journalist, proud of her culture and lover of the fresh and natural flavors of their land. They have decided to unite their passions, creativity and love for Latin culture, especially Colombian, to create 'Nela', a refreshing and comforting drink with lime and panela as the main ingredient, coming from cane juice, a staple of Latin culture.

Panela, known in different Latin American countries as raspadura, piloncillo, or condensed sugar cane juice, is an ingredient with properties better for you than refined sugar commonly found in many beverages. Panela has been considered a superfood, as an unrefined product, panela retains micronutrients found in sugar cane, mainly minerals such as potassium, iron and calcium, and vitamins C and B.

Colombia is the second largest producer and first consumer of Panela in the world, so the creators of 'Tipo Nela' took advantage of this typical ingredient of Latin culture to offer a natural, vibrant and different drink as a refreshing alternative to the current offerings found in today's U.S. market.
The result is the creation of 'Tipo Nela', a different and comforting beverage, ideal for drinking with or without alcohol at any occasion.
